Rahul Dholakia had a dream., he wanted to be like Ketan Shah. He used to follow Ketan quite minutely and over a period of time he developed a Ketan Shah walk and talk.
However, it turned out that Ketan Shah instead wanted to be like Rajiv Kapoor. So, Ketan made it a point to atleast physically resemble Rajiv Kapoor. He also tried to wear the kind of clothes similar to the ones worn by Rajiv Kapoor so as to look as cool as Rajiv..
So, Rahul Dholakia ended up walking and talking like Ketan Shah in the attire of Rajiv Kapoor.
And Rajiv Kapoor was himself a very big impersonator of Tejas Chandok. Rajiv's every move was in itself nothing more than an attempted imitation of Tejas Chandok.
So overtly, Ketan Shah's attire was not really Rajiv Kapoor's but Tejas Chandok's.
And coming back to, Rahul Dholakia- He ended up walking and talking like Ketan Shah in the attire of a guy called Tejas Chandok mixed with some alterations done by Rajiv Kapoor.
Tejas Chandok, instead was inspired by quite a few people in a quite a few number of things. He tried to follow Amol Deo's style, Ajay Shetty's Accent, Aneesh Gore's build,Shailesh's Tie tying method, Dev Anand's hand rocking ways, Rajesh chawla's watch, Shalini's smile (?) , Ayub's hairs, Ram Singh's moustach etc. etc.
Now, even God doesn't know who exactly is Rahul Dholakia resembling.
Moral of the story: Most of us look upto someone and try to be like that person or attain the heights / traits which a particular person has achieved. In the process we forget what we can do on our own. So it is best to do what u feel is correct rather than trying to do what someone else has done !!
